Closing date extended: Friday, 24 February, 2017
Community Recovery funding for Community Organisations/Service Groups
Theme for 2017 is: " The Importance of Social Connection for the Elderly"
Banana Shire Council has been allocated some funding under the Community Recovery Support Package 2015-2017. The purpose of this funding is to build community capacity and social connectedness following TC Marcia, 20 February, 2015. This can be achieved by hosting community events and activities that encourage gathering and communication, in an effort to foster social well-being.
Council invites Expressions of Interest from Community Organisations/Service Groups (non-party political, local, community, cultural, religious, charitable, service, recreational or sporting group) interested in using the funding to host an event for Neighbour Day. The event can be held at any time over the weekend of 25-26 March, 2017. It could be a small or large gathering, brunch, smoko, BBQ dinner, whatever!! It is strongly advised that you welcome and invite new members of your community.
Event organisers will be required to register their event through the Neighbour Day website before funds are forwarded. Please complete the application form and advise what type of event you plan to host. Please note the amount accessible is capped at a maximum of $1000.00 and will be allocated based on expected participation numbers. Your organisation must provide evidence in your application for the amount requested, eg quotes for food supply, hall hire, entertainment fee. Following the event you will be required to complete an acquittal form, supplying receipts for the amount granted.
Expressions of Interest for this funding will close at 5:00pm, Friday 24 February, 2017. Forms are available on the Council website http://www.banana.qld.gov.au/ and can be submitted here or at any of Council’s Customer Service Centres (see addresses below).
