BANANA SHIRE LOCAL DISASTER COORDINATION CENTRE
The Local Disaster Coordination Centre continues to monitor river and creek systems throughout the Shire. The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland issued flood warning advice at 11:12am today stating:
- Minor to moderate flooding may occur along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore
- The Dawson River at Baralaba may exceed the minor flood level (4.00m) overnight Friday and into Saturday
- Moderate flooding is peaking in the Don River at Rannes and in Callide Creek at Goovigen
Residents along these river and creek systems are urged to remain alert.
Banana Shire Council crews continue to assess roads as a priority. Patience during this lengthy process is appreciated. Council’s road network is large and our crews are doing their best to assess these as quickly as possible.
Residents and travellers are reminded to obey all road signs.
