CERTIFICATION OF THEODORE AERODROME

CERTIFICATION OF THEODORE AERODROME

Council has commenced the process to certify the Theodore Aerodrome with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

The certification of the Theodore Aerodrome will affect Aerodrome users in the following way:

  • All persons entering the airside area must have an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or be escorted by an ASIC holder;
  • All persons in the airside area must have a lawful reason to be there;
  • A full NOTAM service will be available by Airservices Australia;
  • Council will adopt and apply an Aerodrome Manual, Emergency Plan and Safety Management System;
  • Any vehicles entering the airside area must be approved in advance by Aerodrome Management, and details of vehicle and driver’s licence are to be provided to the Aerodrome Manager; and
  • All hazards and incidents at the Aerodrome must be reported to Aerodrome Management as a matter of urgency, following identification or occurrence.

If you are not an ASIC holder and will require frequent access to Theodore Aerodrome, you are encouraged to make application to obtain an ASIC.  Information on ASICs can be found on CASA’s website: https://www.casa.gov.au/standard-page/aviation-security-identity-card-asic-application.
