The "Pubs" are a great place to get local stories and most have memorabilia displays ready for visitors.
- Visit the old mining town of Cracow. You may be lucky enough to encounter the ghost that lurks around the old boarding house. A cold drink and a counter meal at the Cracow hotel is a must.
- Discover… Bell's Creek Conservation Park… can be accessed by turning east at the Five Ways intersection at Goovigen and travelling along the Five-Ways Mt Eugene Road. Turn right at the tennis court sign and spend the day discovering the beauty of the area.
- Learn all about the Industries of the Shire at The Silo. Located in Biloela, the Silo was originally on Display at Expo in Brisbane in 1988.
- Experience outback life at Myella Farm Stay, Baralaba. Take part in horse riding, 4WD farm tours and open camp fires in true outback style.
- Take a step back in time and visit the Historical Village in Baralaba and enjoy a day along the Dawson River, fishing and waterskiing. Camping facilities provided.
- Go for a picnic lunch at Junction Park, Theodore at the junction of the Dawson River and Castle Creek. Maybe spend the night and enjoy a meal at the Theodore Hotel, the first co-operative Hotel in Queensland.
- Located near the Power Station and Callide mine you will find Callide Dam, a great place for a BBQ lunch and some fishing. The dam is fully stocked with Baramundi and Red Claw.
- Visit the old Butter Factory in Wowan which has been transformed into a museum highlighting the history of the township.
