Have your say! April is Library Survey Month

Banana Shire Libraries want you to tell us how we can serve you better.

You can —

• Complete an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/bsclibrarysurvey
• Go to any Banana Shire Library or Customer Service Centre and ask for a survey form.
• Fill out and Print a copy of the Banana Shire Libraries Survey Form from here.

The surveys are completely anonymous.

Completed forms can be handed in to our Libraries, Customer Service Centres, or put into the many book chutes we have in the Shire. These are located at the libraries in Biloela, Moura, Taroom & Theodore.
We also have book chutes in post offices in Banana, Baralaba, Goovigen & Wowan also at Jambin Store & Dululu Hotel.

The Libraries are you Community Resource, and we want to know what we are doing right, and what we can do better!

Charlee Marshall Bush Poetry Competition

The Banana Shire Council sponsors this annual competition which is co-ordinated by staff at the Banana Shire Library and Information Services.

Prizes are awarded for:
• Golden Cockatoo Award (Adults) First Prize: $100. Second Prize: $30.
• Silver Budgie Award (Junior –U16) First Prize: $100. Second Prize: $30.

Entries for the Charlee Marshall Competition 2011 closed at 5.30pm on November 26th 2010.
Presentations for the 2011 Competition were held on Australia Day, 26th January in Biloela.

Looking @ 2.0

State Library of Queensland presents Looking @2.0
'A user's guide to online technologies'
If Facebook fills you with fear, Twitter sounds like twaddle and Flickr seems as though it is spelt incorrectly, this is the course for you. Jump online, have a go and learn a bit about 2.0.

Looking @2.0 is a free, online course presented by the State Library of Queensland, supported by OPAL funding. Looking @2.0 is designed to help you navigate through the world of online technologies. Keep up with your kids, find new resources and learn how to stay safe online.
The course is broken down into eight modules, each focusing on a theme. Every two weeks a new module will become available and you are able to complete those that interest you.
Each module will provide you with some background information, activities to get you thinking, a short quiz to test your understanding and a set of links and resources for you to explore more.
You can complete modules in your own time but if you want to be in the draw for the prize you will need to complete your chosen modules within the month they appear. You must also complete the pre and post surveys and the quizzes within your chosen module(s).
