Inviting Advisory Committee Members

Banana Shire Council has recently created a new advisory committee to provide advice to Council on projects to be funded under renewable energy projects Community Benefit Arrangements.

Council is currently looking for seven members of the community to be members of the advisory committee which will be jointly chaired by Mayor, Cr Neville Ferrier and the CEO of Coexistence Queensland, Mr Warwick Squire.

Community members are invited to submit experiences of interest to fill one of the seven vacancies listed below:

  • 1 - Community member from the North of the Shire
  • 1 - Community member from the South of the Shire
  • 2 - Landholders from across the whole of the Shire
  • 2 - Business owners from across the whole of the Shire
  • 1 - Indigenous Representative

The roles on the advisory committee are voluntary although reasonable costs of attending meetings will be reimbursed.

Community members seeking appointment to the Banana Local Reference Group must be permanent residents of the Banana Shire.
