Moura Miners Memorial Day Service 2025

The 2025 Miners Memorial Day Service will be held on Friday, 19 September 2025 in Moura.

This date marks the anniversary of the state's worst coal mining disaster at Mount Mulligan, where 75 miners lost their lives in 1921. This year also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Kianga No.1 mine disaster where 13 miners tragically lost their lives on 20 September 1975.

The service is a time to formally pause and honour the memory of all those who have lost their lives working in Queensland mines.

The service will also be live streamed on the Resources Safety and Health Queensland Facebook page and YouTube.
