Last stop on our 3-Day series is Banana on 18 March. This will be also provide a follow-up field day looking at ongoing landscape and erosion management solutions in action.
Join us for a practical, hands-on field day focused on erosion control and landscape rehydration for grazing country.
Hosted at Newhaven, near Banana, this fully funded event will explore achievable, on-ground solutions designed to strengthen productivity while protecting your soil and water resources.
Together, we will cover:
✔ Seeing erosion control in action after rain – what worked and lessons learned
✔ Practical insights from decades of land management experience
✔ Advanced water management, soil health, and pasture recovery
✔ Planning next steps like fencing, carrying capacity, and scaling erosion control
✔ Building long-term resilience for productive, sustainable landscapes
Hear from Michael & Kylie Mactaggart, who have implemented strategic fencing, contour banks, and rotational grazing to restore landscape function. They’ll share what has worked and the lessons they’ve learned along the way.
Glenn Landsberg, Landsberg Landscape Restoration, (farmer, rehydration consultant, and pilot) will present his perspective on landscape restoration. Glenn identifies degraded areas, guides targeted earthworks, and explains how slowing water movement, improving soil health, and promoting grass growth builds resilient, productive landscapes.
Billy Smoothy, BWK Contracting, will provide practical, cost-effective insights from earthmoving works across the Dawson region, helping landholders implement similar projects efficiently and sustainably.
Part of our three-event Soil First series across Wandoan, Goovigen & Banana.
