Employee Sponsored Housing Schemes Rates Concession
Council will provide a concession of 100% of general rates for a period not exceeding two years in support of individuals participating in employee sponsored housing schemes to encourage the economic development of all or part of the local government area pursuant to Sections 120(1)(d), 121 and 122 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.
The rate concessions for Employer Supported Domestic Housing Initiative is subject to the following conditions:
- The employer must have a local housing incentive program that offers a minimum of $50,000 in either cash or in-kind support to employees, contractors or the general public.
- The incentive is for new builds to be occupied by the staff member, contractor or the general public on residential or rural residential land (less than two hectares).
- The new dwelling must be constructed on the land within two years of approval of the land purchase.
- The general rate concession is only available once house construction commences for a period of two years.
- All applications are to be assessed in accordance with the General Rates Concession - Employer Supported Domestic Housing Policy
