Council restored normal treatment operations on Monday 14thApril 2025, after higher than acceptable filtered water turbidity readings were recorded on Sunday 13thApril 2025. Turbidity is a measure of the clarity of the water, suspended particles remaining in the water will result in an increased turbidity. This can reduce the effectiveness of chlorine disinfection, so a precautionary “Boil Water” alert was issued. Council is working closely with the water supply regulator and Queensland Health to ensure water that is in the distribution network is safe to drink before the “Boil Water” alert is lifted.
