On 26 November 2025, Banana Shire Council resolved to appoint Anaman as the construct and operate contractor for the Biloela Workers Accommodation Camp.
Banana Shire Council has been advised today that Anaman withdraws as the construct and operate contractor for the Biloela Accommodation Workers Camp.
Banana Shire Council will work quickly to release a new Expression of Interest to construct and/or operate the camp.

Background to Biloela Worker Accommodation Camp
On 27 November 2024, Council received a development permit for Workforce Accommodation for 700 rooms over its land at 93 Quarries Road, Biloela. The intention behind the camp is to cater for the construction crews for the renewable energy projects close to Biloela, given the already limited availability of accommodation in Biloela. It is Council’s plan to have a third-party construct and operate the Workforce Accommodation.

In early March 2025, Council released an Expression of Interest to construct and/or operate the camp (EOI). The EOI closed on 30 April 2025. Following review of the responses, Council resolved to enter into negotiations with two preferred respondents to resolve some issues with each of the responses, delegating authority to the Chief Executive Officer for those negotiations.

Negotiations were resolved and the amended responses reviewed for presentation to the Ordinary Meeting of Banana Shire Council on 26 November 2025.
