Banana Shire Council has welcomed the announcement that McDonald's will be coming to Biloela, marking an exciting milestone for the community and a strong sign of continued growth and investment in the region.

The arrival of the globally recognised brand has been highly anticipated by residents for several years and will provide both new dining options and valuable employment opportunities for local people.

Mayor Nev Ferrier said the development demonstrates confidence in Biloela's future and reflects the town's growing appeal as a place to live, work and invest.

"The arrival of McDonald's is fantastic news for Biloela and the wider Banana Shire community,"  Mayor Ferrier said.

"This is something many residents have been looking forward to for a long time, and it represents much more than a new restaurant opening its doors. It is an investment in our region, our people and our future."

The new restaurant is expected to create a range of jobs for local residents, particularly young people entering the workforce and looking to gain valuable skills and experience.

Mayor Ferrier said McDonald's has a long-standing reputation for providing quality training and developing strong workplace skills that benefit employees throughout their careers.

"Many employers recognise the value of experience gained at McDonald's. The company is well known for teaching important skills such as teamwork, communication, customer service, time management and leadership,"  he said.

"Former McDonald's employees are often highly regarded because of the work ethic and professionalism they develop, helping them build successful careers across many different industries."

Council also sees the development as a positive indicator of the region's continued economic growth and increasing attractiveness to major national and international businesses.

"The decision by a global company such as McDonald's to invest in Biloela sends a strong message about the confidence businesses have in our community,"  Mayor Ferrier said.

"It demonstrates that our town is growing, that demand for services is increasing and that Biloela continues to be an attractive place for families, businesses and investors."

Mayor Ferrier said the development is another example of the positive momentum being experienced across Banana Shire.

"As our region continues to grow, it is encouraging to see major brands recognising the opportunities that exist here. McDonald's will provide employment opportunities, support local economic activity and offer another service that residents have been asking for over many years,"  he said.

"We look forward to welcoming McDonald's to Biloela and seeing the positive impact it will have on our community for years to come."
