Banana Shire Council, in partnership with the Queensland Government, is proud to deliver new and improved facilities for the local community through funding provided under the Works for Queensland program.

This collaborative initiative highlights the shared commitment of both Council and the State Government to invest in regional communities, supporting infrastructure that enhances liveability, accessibility, and community wellbeing across the Banana Shire.

Through the Works for Queensland funding grant, a range of projects have been delivered to improve local amenities, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic activity within the region. These upgrades will provide long-term benefits for residents, families, and visitors alike.

Recent works include the delivery of a new accessible family and disability-friendly public toilet facility on Yaldwyn Street, Taroom, providing improved convenience and inclusivity for residents and visitors.

The Queensland Government’s continued support through programs such as Works for Queensland ensures regional councils like Banana Shire can deliver meaningful projects that improve quality of life and build resilient communities.

Banana Shire Council looks forward to continuing its strong working relationship with the Queensland Government to deliver future projects that benefit the region.
