Reflections and Refractions by Lani Burville injects new life into discarded domestic objects through a series of beautifully rendered watercolour paintings. Using the traditional practice of still-life painting, Burville depicts locally sourced second-hand reflective or transparent objects. She brings them into a new context by looking past the intended function of the object and focusing on their unintentional beauty. Reflections and Refractions encourages viewers to notice the chance moments of beauty in everyday life, that are so often overlooked.
