Published: 15th July 2019

Following a successful First 5 Forever Rewards Program in 2018 the Banana Shire Libraries is running the Program again this year.

During the period 15 July – 21 September, 2019, children (0-5yrs) who attend either a Baby Bounce or Story Time session at any of the branches will receive a rewards card.

Once the child has obtained 8 stamps he/she will receive a free age appropriate book to keep!

Baby Bounce sessions are conducted in the Banana Shire Libraries at 10 am;  Biloela Library on Thursdays, Moura on Tuesdays, and Taroom on every second Thursday.

Story Time is held at 10am in Taroom on  Tuesdays, Theodore Saturday Moura on Thursday, and Biloela on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Present your rewards card at any branch at any of these sessions to receive a stamp.

The First 5 Forever program is funded by State Government, the State Library of Queensland and Banana Shire Council.

Sessions engage children in early literacy development with the aim to improve early literacy outcomes for Queensland children and teach caregivers action songs and rhymes they can repeat at home with their children.

Extra tips and tricks on how you can assist your child’s language development can be found on the “First 5 Forever” Facebook page.
