Local Government Elections - Banana Shire Council

Residents of Banana Shire are advised that the Local Government elections for Banana Shire are being conducted by the Electoral Commission of Queensland and specific enquiries should be directed to the Banana Shire Returning Officer Mr Graham Pitt on 07-49929500 until COB Friday 27 March.

Residents should note that voting for the Banana Shire Council is a full postal vote and there is no in-person voting on Saturday 28 March 2020.

Residents should also note that due to the number of constituencies not being contested most Councillors have been elected or re-elected unopposed. The Councillors elected unopposed include —

Mayor Councillor Neville Ferrier re-elected unopposed
Division 3 Phillip Casey will replace Cr Brennan unopposed
Division 4 Councillor Colin Semple re-elected unopposed
Division 5 Councillor Brooke Leo re-elected unopposed
Division 6 Councillor Terri Boyce re-elected unopposed

 

Biloela residents in Divisions 1 & 2 are the only residents required to vote for their local councillors and should have received their postal ballots in the mail at this time. If you haven’t received your postal ballot please contact the Returning Officer by phoning 49929500 between 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday. On Saturday 28th March the Returning Officer will be available at the Banana Shire Council Administration Centre, 62 Valentine Plains Road, Biloela between 8.00am – 6.00pm.
