2020 Festival of Small Halls – Request for Expressions of Interest

The Festival of Small Halls is touring in October 2020 and we are looking for a host community in Banana Shire.

The Festival of Small Halls Australia is a series of tours that take the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia. It’s an opportunity for music-lovers from welcoming communities to invite artists into their towns, and a way of exploring this vast country in the spirit of hospitality and great fun.

As you can imagine, there have been some changes to the structure of this event for 2020 however all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure this event can proceed in line with Government restrictions and guidelines for Covid-19.

Are you a local community group looking for a unique fundraiser? Host communities have the ability to fundraise through food and drink sales. Strict guidelines may be enforced due to Covid-19.

Do you have a great local hall with an outdoor area that can cater for up to 100 people following social distancing rules of 1 person or family group per 4 square metres?

Can you commit to a date in October 2020 (maybe during the week or on a weekend)?

Are you willing and able to comply with any Government restrictions and/or guidelines in line with Covid-19?

If you answered yes to these questions then the Festival of Small Halls may be just what you’re looking for!

Expressions of interest close 5pm Friday 10 July 2020.

Entries are to be in writing addressed to Community Development via email to enquiries@banana.qld.gov.au or in writing to PO Box 412, Biloela, Qld 4715. Please respond to the questions above detailing who you are and why your community and hall would be the best for this event. The successful bid will be chosen on their enthusiasm and detail in response to the above questions. Council decision is final.
