New water restrictions for Biloela, Thangool and Callide Dam

Published: 14th December 2020

Residents, businesses and other water users in Biloela, Thangool and Callide Dam Village are advised that Level 2 water restrictions have been introduced.

The new restrictions were implemented on 11 December 2020 and are the result of the declining water level in Callide Dam.

Under the restrictions the use of sprinklers are permitted from:

  • 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm from October through to March
  • 7am to 8am and 4pm to 6pm from April to September.

Hand held hoses, drip irrigation systems and buckets and watering cans filled directly from taps can be used anytime.

Approved sub-surface irrigation systems can be used for sporting fields and ovals.

People caught not complying with these water restrictions will be issued with an infringement notice.
