Banana Shire Council have provided in principle support to Biloela Enterprise to install a Cockatoo Statue (approx 7m x 2m) close to the existing Visitor Information Centre between the Burnett Highway and Valentine Plains Road Biloela.

Council supported the location and idea based on the following principles:

• Safety - The site is a safe place for traveller’s to stop and experience the statue, and it is safe for Council to manage;

• Visibility - The statue would be visible from the highway/s to attract traveller’s;

• Amenities - Sufficient parking is available, along with toilets in close proximity;

• Economic Benefit - The site increases the flow-on traffic to local businesses;

• Ease of Implementation - The site can be activated easily for the statue’s installation.
