Dear Banana Shire Residents,

On behalf of the Councilors and staff at Banana Shire Council, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and happy new year.

The festive season is here and many of us in the Shire are lucky enough to be able to celebrate the festive season together this year after so many celebrations were cancelled last year. It has been my pleasure to be able to connect with you all and celebrate this festive season with many of you in the local community.

Banana Shire is lucky to have many community groups, volunteers and businesses who all contribute to our community and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who support this great community of ours in your own special way.

During 2021 Council has worked hard to ensure the continued smooth operation of the Shire.  We have worked with local enterprises as well as State and Federal Governments to promote investment and foster growth for our communities.  The coming year 2022, will undoubtedly hold challenges for us, but together we will work hard to ensure our Shire is a safe and prosperous place to call home.
