Banana Shire Council Hosts Renewable Energy Supply Chain Industry Event

Banana Shire Council will bring together heads of existing major industry, new renewable industry projects, local suppliers and government agencies for a one-day Supply Chain Industry event. Held on Saturday 6th August at Biloela Anzac Memorial Club, the forum will highlight proposed projects in the region that will enable local suppliers to position for contractual work.
 

Mayor of Banana Shire, Nev Ferrier said that the forum will provide a great opportunity for local suppliers to educate themselves on future opportunities. “The Supply Chain Industry forum will provide an invaluable session for local suppliers looking to educate themselves on future opportunities within Banana Shire’s economic zone,” said Mayor of Banana Shire Council Nev Ferrier. 
 

Keynote speakers for the event include Banana Shire Council Mayor, CEO and Director of Council Services and will also include Project Manager of Mount Hopeful Windfarm and CS Energy GM of Future Energy.
 

Other attendees include local businesses that operate within the Banana region, that play an important role in providing employment and help boost the local economy which include; Callide Power Station, Anglo American Dawson Mine, Queensland Nitrates, Batchfire Resources and Aeris Resources.  The event will also welcome new renewable energy projects in Banana Shire’s economic zone which include: Neoen, Edify Energy, EDF Renewables, Central Queensland Power (CQP) and DP Energy.
 

“In just 40 years, the Banana Shire landscape has transformed, and is becoming a futuristic innovative economy, with many renewable projects in the pipeline” added Mayor Ferrier.
 

The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Industry Event will take place on Saturday 6th August at the Biloela Anzac Memorial Club from 9.00am – 12.30pm.
