Council's Animal Compliance Team Achieves Pawsome Milestone

Published: 22nd February 2023

We are pleased to share that Council's Animal Compliance team has achieved a noteworthy milestone in rehoming impounded animals. Since 1st June 2022, they have successfully found new homes or reunited lost pets with their families, with an impressive success rate of approximately 85%.

Here is one lovely success story about 'Blue’, a loyal and affectionate dog who captured our hearts. ‘Blue’ came to our facility after being found by a farmer during mustering, and despite extensive efforts to locate his owner, we were unable to do so. We knew that finding the right home for him was essential to ensure his well-being.

Our team worked diligently to identify the perfect home for ‘Blue’. It was crucial to find a new owner who would appreciate his desire to herd, muster, and work livestock while providing a loving environment. We are delighted to report that ‘Blue’ has found his new niche and his new owner couldn't be happier.

A big thank you to Council's animal compliance team and our wonderful community for their continued support in this important work. We remain committed to providing compassionate care and finding loving homes for animals in our community.
