Banana Shire Council Seeks Expressions of Interest for Management Committee to Operate Former PCYC Building

Published: 17th May 2023

Banana Shire Council is now seeking expressions of interest from individuals or groups within the local community to form a management committee to operate the Former PCYC Building. The primary objective of the committee will be to enhance sports and recreation opportunities for the community, promoting an active and vibrant lifestyle. Council has been undertaking a season of repairs on the building which are now almost completed.

"We believe that community involvement is key to the success of this facility. By forming a management committee, we can tap into the knowledge, expertise, and passion of local individuals or groups who are committed to driving positive change in our community's sports and recreation sector," said Mayor Nev Ferrier.

This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who wish to make a difference in the community, shape the future of sports and recreation, and contribute to the overall well-being of residents. By becoming a member of the management committee, participants will have the chance to actively manage the facility, organise events, and implement initiatives that promote an active and healthy lifestyle for all ages.

To express interest or obtain more information about the management committee opportunity, interested individuals or groups are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest Form found on Banana Shire Council Website.  Forms can be submitted to any council customer service office or emailed to enquiries@banana.qld.gov.au.

The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is 30th June so interested parties are urged to act promptly.
