Aqualus Water System

Published: 12th March 2024

Banana Shire Council is encouraging ratepayers to take advantage of the Aqualus Water system, designed for individuals to monitor water usage and detect leaks on their property. The Aqualus Water system offers numerous benefits, including a cost-effective method for the council to read water metres remotely, eliminating the need for physical site visits. Moreover, early detection of unusual water usage patterns can prevent water wastage and save customers hundreds of dollars by identifying leaks early on.

Once registered, property owners gain access to their property's water usage information on a daily basis, allowing them to track consumption patterns and identify potential leaks promptly. Even tenants can sign up with the property owner's approval, offering a comprehensive solution for water monitoring and leak detection.

Implemented as part of the council's automated water meter reading project, the Aqualus Water system enables remote metre reading and monitoring of water consumption for connected properties. Residents in Biloela, Thangool, Callide Dam, Banana, and Moura who are connected to the council's reticulated water supply can sign up for Aqualus Water at https://banana.aqualus.com

While the automated meter reading devices are currently being installed in the initial phase, plans are underway to extend coverage to additional areas as budget permits.

Banana Shire Council encourages all ratepayers and customers to sign up for Aqualus Water, contributing to responsible water management practices and promoting environmental sustainability in the community.
