Exhibition Proposals
The Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery accepts exhibition proposals year round. We encourage exhibitions by established artists, emerging artists, and group exhibitions with a clear curatorial direction.
Successful proposals are assessed according to the following selection criteria:
- Connection to locally relevant themes
- Strength of exhibition concept
- Quality and originality of artwork
Exhibitions are generally scheduled for a period of six to eight weeks. The annual program may be schedualled up to two years in advance and bookings are subject to availibilty. We recommend contacting us in the initial stages of your planning to discuss your ideas further.
The gallery has two exhibition spaces:
Main Gallery: suitable for large solo exhibitions and group exhibitions
Palm Tree Room: suitable for small solo exhibitions, emerging artists, small group shows and works requiring hanging from the ceiling.
Workshop Hire
Our workshop area is available for hire for workshops and events. This room includes facilities such as tables and chairs, a projector screen and a sink for using art mediums. Successful bookings are subject to staff availability and suitability with the current exhibition.
Function Hire
Are you looking for a unique venue for an event or function? Our gallery is available to hire for one night only events. Our exhibitions make for an exciting setting with great talking points. Successful bookings are subject to staff availability and suitability with the current exhibition.
